After the arrival of New Zealand, all of the squads are in Russia ready to start the tournament that will be a test of what’s to come in the next World Cup. Portugal, Mexico, New Zealand, Cameroon, Chile, Australia, Germany, and the hosts Russia are ready and determined to take the trophy. The tournament is set to begin this Saturday the 18th of June between local squad Russia and New Zealand at 10am Central time in Saint Petersburg. The Russians managed to hold a surprising tie against Chile in their last friendly match in preparation for the tournament, while the all whites are coming from two losses against Belarus and Northern Ireland, both of 0-1, showing that Russia appears to be in better form as they enter the match that opens the curtain of the Confederations Cup.

News circulated during the week that Cristiano Ronaldo has been accused of tax fraud by Spanish fiscal authorities for the 14.7 million Euros of tax through offshore companies.  The reports state that the Portuguese footballer could be facing a 28 million Euros fine and the possibility to end up in jail for up to three years. In response the player has said that he is “Surprised about the accusations”, that he denies them fully and that “his consciousness is clean” and that he is convinced justice will prevail and his innocence will be proven.

International football giants Real Madrid and FC Barcelona have launched their new kits for the upcoming  2017-2018 season. Real Madrid have announced two new jersey’s. The first one, a new home kit, all in white with highlights in turquoise green with Fly Emirates as the main sponsor coming back in the front of the uniform. The second, the away kit, which keeping with tradition will be all black this time featuring not just highlights but the brand and team crest in Turquoise as well. Both are still made by Adidas and feature the brands AdiZero technology.

Barcelona only unveiled their home kit with the novelty that it will now feature  Japanese electronic company, Rakuten, as their main sponsor instead of Qatar Airlines. The Jersey comes in the traditional dark blue with red vertical stripes, that this time change in size along the shirt to give it a nice modern contrast- like pattern. It still displays some highlights in yellow along the neckline, the outline of the Barcelona crest, and the Nike logo.  The shirt will come with Nike’s vapor match technology.

Whether you support the “galacticos” or the “cules”, both kits are  available for purchase through each team’s official online stores.

According to media outlets from Spain and England like The Sun and Marca, Real Madrid and Manchester United have come to an agreement and have decided to start negotiating the transfer fee for Alvaro Morata. Reports say that the player has also agreed on the move and is willing to become a red devil and play under Mourinho’s command once again, with only the transfer fee the last step needed for him to sign with his new team. The move could be finished in the next few days and would be announced by both clubs during the next week.  The Spanish striker had been linked with AC Milan for most of the summer but apparently Manchester United’s need to target another forward after the failed attempt at signing Antoine Griezmann has made the Club target Morata as a top priority signing for Jose Mourinho, and would be willing to bid higher than what Milan was willing to offer.  The estimated transfer sum Real Madrid is asking for the striker is 70 million pounds.
